I know I promised to keep the golf coverage down to a murmur when Eldrick is not playing…but the fact is Pat Perez is torching the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic out in the Palm Desert. An Opening Round 61 (-11) and a Second Round 63 (-9) gave Perez a new PGA Tour Record for lowest 36 hole total. Take a look at the leaderboard through two rounds and see some of the scoring. If there is going to be a 58 or a 59 in golf this year…it could happen this weekend…The last 59 in a actual competition on the PGA Tour happened in this event in 1999 by David Duval. If you are living where its cold, and love golf – you may want to check in from time to time this weekend to see if anyone will make history.

im sorry, but this course is not suitable for pros. any pro worth his shit should be able to shoot -4 on ANY of these courses, and if any of the top-15 played, we wouldn’t be talking 59, we’d be talking 55.
super wide fairways, easy as hell greens rolling slowly, perfect weather with no wind, no slope at all and no rough whatsoever? this isn’t a golf course it’s a glorified driving range. id be willing to be that any amateur who can strike it consistently would shoot better than their average on the disgusting muni’s we all play.
